    THE ROLE

    Insomniac Events is seeking a QA Engineer skilled in ensuring the quality and reliability of web and mobile applications through comprehensive testing strategies.

    The ideal candidate will have experience in automating tests within cloud environments, particularly AWS, and be adept at using a variety of testing tools and frameworks to support development projects.

    The ability to adapt testing approaches to each project and collaborate effectively with both internal teams and offshore development teams is crucial to this position's success.

    This role will focus on delivering high-quality, on-time code releases through automated and manual testing methods, developing and implementing testing strategies for multiple projects, and guiding the testing phases of the software development process.

    You would be responsible for designing and executing test plans, managing automated test scripts, and working closely with our internal and offshore teams to ensure the highest standards of quality.


    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Collaborate with product, design, and marketing teams to ensure new features meet quality standards and achieve roadmap goals
    • Enhance engineering standards for testing, tooling, and processes to improve quality and efficiency
    • Work with offshore development teams to ensure the quality of new features and scalability of applications
    • Design and maintain automated test frameworks and scripts, ensuring clean, secure, and reusable code
    • Utilize advanced tools and techniques for debugging and fixing complex issues across services and levels of the stack
    • Strategize testing approaches for multiple development projects, providing direction on software testing and quality assurance processes
    • Help train and onboard other team members when needed
    • Other design requirements and responsibilities as necessary

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or 4 years of equivalent work experience in quality assurance roles
    • Strong experience in automating tests, particularly within cloud environments using AWS (S3, EC2, EKS, etc.)
    • Proficient in several technologies, including NodeJS (TypeScript), JavaScript, React.
    JS, HTML/CSS, SPA and PWA, and responsive applications

    • Experience with SQL (ideally Postgres), Git, and CI/CD pipelines
    • Demonstrated ability to automate testing of high-traffic, low response time APIs and conduct end-to-end integration testing
    • Familiarity with testing frameworks and tools such as Jest and react-testing-library
    • Experience with E2E / browser testing (Capybara, Cucumber or Cypress)
    • Experience with API testing using Postman
    • Experience with verifying 3rd party snippets working such as Google Tag Manager, Facebook Pixel
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of effectively engaging with a diverse team
    • Bonus points for experience in ticketing, travel, or hospitality industries

    WORK ENVIRONMENT

    • Must be able to tolerate loud noise levels & busy environments
    • May work in drastic temperature climates
    • Must be willing to travel to work events during holidays, evening and weekend hours, as required, to meet deadlines

    Hiring Salary Range:
    $75, $110,000.00 USD
