    About the Role:

    We're searching for a Senior Accountant to join Remitly's Global Corporate Accounting team, reporting to the Senior Manager of Corporate Accounting. As a senior accountant on the Accounting team, you will be an important contributor to our financial statements by supporting the global accounting processes.

    You Will:

    • Coordinate with our global teams to process and report foreign subsidiaries' results.
    • Support acquisition and integration activities, including developing integrating and optimizing the consolidation process.
    • Ensure internal controls and procedures are documented and followed with audit trails for the compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley
    • Conduct accounting research and drafting documentation working with team members to determine the impact of new accounting standards and the accounting implications of changes in the business.
    • Manage multiple projects (ie. new system implementations/integrations) & analysis to ensure balances are complete and accurate by establishing and maintaining a framework to monitor, investigate and resolve issues
    • Support month-end close by recording journal entries and preparing balance sheet reconciliations.
    • Develop, expand and improve month-end close and help drive the reduction of the close timeline by assessing and streamlining close-related activities
    • Support ad hoc financial information request/audit request and analyses and other special projects as assigned

    You Have:

    • Bachelor's degree in accounting and 3+ years of experience
    • CPA or public accounting experience
    • Knowledge of US GAAP required
    • Strong technical accounting background
    • Experience with streamlining processes and/or design and implementation of accounting policies and procedures
    • Experience working in NetSuite or similar ERP systems
    • Experience analyzing and working with large data sets and familiarity with data management tools such as Excel and SQL a plus

    Compensation Details. The starting base salary range for this position is typically $100,000 -$125,000. In the U.S., Remitly employees are shareholders in our Company and equity is part of our total compensation plan.
