- Compounds, prepares, packages and dispenses drugs and pharmaceuticals according to Federal and State law requirements; supervises Pharmacy Technician and other support staff on above duties.
- Keeps informed of new drugs and pharmaceutical developments; services as a pharmaceutical consultant to medical and nursing staff.
- Keeps or supervises records of drugs, poisons, and controlled substances ordered, received, and supply on hand as required by Federal and State laws; estimates needs and orders drugs, pharmaceuticals and chemicals as needed to maintain an adequate supply.
- Reviews the proper storage of drugs on nursing stations, pharmacies or outpatient clinics; removes all outdated drugs.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Advanced degree preferred or enrollment in advanced degree program.
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy or related field is required.
Minimum Experience:
One to three years of experience as a Registered Pharmacist in a hospital preferred.
Required Licenses/Certifications:
CPI -Crisis Prevention Intervention Training (required for all positions at John George Psychiatric Pavilion; and certain positions in the Emergency Department).
Required Licenses/Certifications:
Valid Pharmacist License issued by the California State Board of Pharmacy.
