    Description

    PURPOSE:
    Provide leadership in all areas of company-wide quality system design, training, implementation and improvement. Act as a senior company representative on quality issues, both internally and externally with customers and suppliers.


    RESPONSIBILITIES:


    Work closely with Department Managers and Supervisors in their areas to identify defective parts or processes and develop methods &/or processes to prevent continued occurrences.

    Coordinate all company activities concerning APQP and PPAP in both automotive and non-automotive industries. Develop PFMEA, Control Plan & Process Flow diagrams up to and including PPAP submission meeting AIAG standards. Communicate and track specific customer requirements internally.
    Support Sup Supplier activities concerning APQP and PPAP in automotive industries.

    Guide the Sub Suppliers to develop PFMEA, Control Plan & Process Flow diagrams up to and including PPAP submission meeting AIAG standards.

    Communicate and track milestones to specific customer requirements.

    Gather, analyze, and present key quality data for discussion and implementation of corrective or preventive actions, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement.

    Coordinate responses to customer corrective actions and 8D's including:
    requests for product returns, coordination of short-term actions, root cause analysis and corrective action tasks.
    Participate in determining and documenting quality standards for products and processes and cosmetic quality acceptance criteria for products. Provide training and monitor performance.
    Participate in customer and certification audits. Develop and coordinate action plans for improvement.
    Work directly with outside processors (supply base) to assure product compliance.
    Communicate with customers and suppliers, including travel as necessary.
    Perform capability studies with a basic understanding of SPC/Statistics.
    Lead cross functional problem solving teams to eliminate quality concernsOther related responsibilities as assigned by management.


    QUALIFICATIONS:


    Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or a related field of study OR the equivalent combination of education and/or years of relevant working experience.

    Five (5) years professional experience in Quality engineering, preferably in an automotive manufacturing field. Minimum ten years of Quality experience in automotive manufacturing (IATF environment.
    Demonstrated ability to apply structured problem-solving techniques.
    Degree in quality, engineering, or technology. Experience with Class A surfaces and finishes is desired.
    Must be able to read and understand blueprints and technical specifications.
    Knowledge of mechanical inspection techniques and GD&T.Experienced in PPAP submission, referencing AIAG manual.
    Proficient in PFMEA development, Process Flow and Control Plan methodology.
    Experience in managing people and/or leading teams.
    Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
    Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal.
    Familiar with Quality Management System (QMS) for IATF requirements and Environmental Management System (EMS) for


    ISO PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:


    Work is normally performed in an office, laboratory, manufacturing floor, or machine shop setting where physical work includes, but is not limited to, sitting, standing, reaching, kneeling, bending, and lifting up to 25 lbs.

    Must be able to understand and comply with all relevant safety practices.
