    Description

    The Director of Quality at SPOC Automation plays a pivotal role in overseeing quality control and assurance processes across the entire production lifecycle. Their responsibilities focus on ensuring products meet or exceed industry and company standards, as well as safety regulations.

    Responsibilities

    • Lives SPOC Lift Up culture with constant focus on continuous improvement of people, processes, and products to meet customer and business objectives.
    • Owns and manages all aspects of the Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure all production processes align with industry standards.
    • Monitors product quality from design through end of life, ensuring all products meet required specifications for use in the field.
    • Conducts audits and evaluations of suppliers to maintain supply chain integrity and resolves quality issues promptly.
    • Stays updated on industry regulations and standards including OSHA, ASME, and others impacting product design, manufacturing, and performance.
    • Analyzes production data to identify trends or potential issues, leading efforts to resolve them before they become significant problems.
    • Manages a quality assurance team including quality engineers, inspectors, and technicians.
    • Collaborates with the training department to develop and conduct training improving employees' understanding of quality standards, regulatory compliance, and safety protocols.
    • Leads, mentors, and provides ongoing support to team members, ensuring alignment with quality objectives and fostering a culture of quality across the organization.
    • Collaborates with key stakeholders including product managers, engineers, and clients to understand their needs and ensure products meet all quality requirements for use in the field.
    • Collaborates with engineering, sales, and customer experience teams to address customer complaints or concerns related to product quality, providing timely resolutions and ensuring customer satisfaction.
    • Communicates quality reports to senior management, highlighting key quality metrics, issues, and improvements.
    • Uses data analytics to track and report on key quality metrics (e.g., defect rates, product performance, supplier quality, cost of non-conformance). Works with engineering, operations, and supply chain to continuously improve these metrics.
    • Collaborates with engineering, product management, and operations to identify and implement corrective actions preventing future issues, focusing on root cause and error proofing.
    • Provides guidance on product design and process changes maintaining product integrity and compliance with quality standards.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field; Master's degree in Engineering or related field is a plus.
    • At least 10 years of experience in the manufacturing industry with a focus on quality management is required.
    • 5-7 years in a leadership or director-level quality role with a focus on driving quality initiatives.
    • Proven experience in leading continuous improvement initiatives.
    • Excellent skills in data analytics, root cause analysis, and corrective action processes.
    • Strong leadership and communication skills to manage results-based processes, lead teams, and interact with senior management, suppliers, and customers.
    • Problem-solving and decision-making abilities to address complex quality issues in a timely and effective manner.
    • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
