    Lincoln City Libraries is looking to hire a Library Aide to work up to 20 hours/week typically scheduled for evening and weekend hours. Shifts will generally be four hours in length and scheduled 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sundays and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays. Hours may be assigned at both the Gere Branch Library (2400 South 56th Street, and the South Branch Library (2675 South Street,

    Library Aides provide excellent service to our customers behind the scenes by ensuring returned materials are checked in correctly and distributed to their next destination. They are also visible in our libraries as they accurately shelve materials to be readily accessible by staff and customers, pull items to fill customer hold requests, and perform various collection maintenance tasks such as inventory, accurate relocation of mis-shelved items, organizing materials, and pulling assigned materials for removal from the collection. Aides may assist with set-up or tear-down for library programs. They may occasionally be needed as the second staff person on-site at South Branch Library.

    Additional hours may occasionally be available, and schedule adjustments may be necessary around holidays and other closures. This position is not eligible for Holiday Pay or other benefits.

    Examples of work performed: Shelves materials efficiently, performs shelf reading, checks in materials, empties bookdrops and sorts materials, assists with collection maintenance such as shifting, search lists, inventories, weeding.

    To be eligible for insurance benefits, employees must work at least 30 hours per week.

    To be eligible for the retirement plan, employees must work at least 20 hours per week.

    Temporary, seasonal, and unclassified employees are not eligible for benefits.
