    Position Summary:


    Responsible for mitigating risk to the company through continuous development and effective implementation of policies and procedures and maintenance of safety programs across all business segments.

    Responsible for direction of Corporate Safety Managers with effective implementation of loss prevention techniques, including legislative and regulatory requirements, risk management, safety and health standards (e.g., Department of Transportation (DOT), Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA), National Fire Protection Agency (NFPA), Security, Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), etc.).

    Guides Corporate Safety Managers and performs regular audits of and visits to operating company locations on a regular basis to evaluate and implement safety programs that mitigate company risk.

    Responsible for updating executive and regional leaders on safety and compliance status to influence safety improvements and overall compliance across all segments.

    Functions as a team manager within the department and organization, as required, and performs any duty assigned to best serve the company.


    Position Responsibilities:

    • Assess risk areas and direct Corporate Safety Managers to ensure overall compliance with OSHA, DOT and other applicable regulations, including state-specific regulatory programs. Ensures Corporate Safety Managers conduct appropriate follow up with operating companies and perform all required safety activities as appropriate.
    • Effectively leads and develops Corporate Safety Managers. Identifies future risk management high potential talent and works with appropriate leaders to drive high potential development. Provide technical and administrative direction to Corporate Safety Managers to achieve consistent standards and improve guidance given to operating companies.
    • Manage DriveCam relationship and performance to best protect human life and our fleet.
    • Direct and promote company safety initiatives, including safety recognition program, site safety committees and other company loss control programs. Maintain a forward thinking approach to how today's risk initiatives may be effected by future business, regulatory or cultural changes and develop countermeasures or program adjustments as applicable in advance to better ensure risk reduction efforts do not stagnate in effectiveness.
    • Identify risk/deficiencies and ensure issues are addressed and resolved by the Corporate Safety Team. Strengthens strategic alliances with corporate and regional HR & Operations by fostering inclusion in risk efforts with and through the Corporate Safety Managers to further synergistic opportunities in how risk, HR and Operations initiatives feed integrate with the goal of reducing PICL and affecting EBITDA.
    • Continually evaluate safety and compliance issues and recommend changes to Risk and management. Work with Executive Staff, Regionals, Presidents, General Managers, Transportation/Warehouse Managers, Safety Managers, insurance broker, insurance carrier and other departments to identify additional risk mitigation issues.
    • Performs other related duties as assigned.
    Required Qualifications

    Required Education:
    Bachelors; Risk Management; Health Safety and Environment (HSE) or related field


    Required Experience:
    Years


    Corporate, multi-location risk management leadership work experience with focus in loss prevention techniques, legislative and regulatory requirements, risk management, safety and health standards (e.g., Department of Transportation (DOT), Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA), National Fire Protection Agency (NFPA), Security, Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), etc.), claims management and related areas.

    Must live in Denver or near one of our OpCo's in a large metro area

    Preferred Qualifications

    Preferred Education:
    Masters/MBA; Risk Management; Health Safety and Environment (HSE) or related field

    Preferred Experience:
    Years; Required experience plus foodservice distribution industry experience
