- Assist classroom teachers with instructional activities, including but not limited to preparing materials, supervising students, and providing one-on-one support as needed.
- Collaborate with teaching staff to implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavioral interventions for students with diverse learning needs.
- Supervise students during non-instructional periods, such as recess, lunchtime, and transition times between classes.
- Monitor hallways, entrances, and other common areas to maintain a safe and orderly environment conducive to learning.
- Enforce school policies and procedures regarding student behavior, attendance, and safety.
- Respond promptly to any incidents or emergencies that may arise, following established protocols and ensuring appropriate documentation.
- Build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents/guardians to support the overall well-being of the school community.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
- Previous experience working with children or adolescents in an educational setting preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with students, colleagues, and parents/guardians.
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Basic knowledge of child development, educational principles, and behavior management strategies.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
- Willingness to undergo a background check and any additional screenings required for employment in a school setting.
