    Responsibilities:
    • The Plumbing Engineer is responsible for the production of thorough and concise computer-generated engineering drawings;
    • Create and prepare designs for plumbing and medical gas systems;
    • Able to perform water, waste, gas calculations as well as product specifications;
    • Coordinate and prepare schematic design, design development, and construction documents;
    • Design plumbing systems including water, sanitary, storm, diesel distribution, natural gas distribution, medical gas, and specialty lab gas systems;
    • Incorporate sustainable design methods in buildings and prepare green rating system documentation;
    • Assist in spatial coordination with architecture and other engineering systems;
    • Deliver projects across multiple delivery models, including design/bid/build, design assist, design build;
    • Process contractor submittals and RFIs;
    • Perform on site condition surveys;
    • Provide mentoring and direction to junior members of the project team or engineering discipline;
    • Use technology and methodologies to create innovative approaches to building design;
    • Consistently strive to improve technical quality of work product by keeping abreast of new technologies, changes in building codes, and advances in the industry;
    • Work collaboratively in a cross-discipline environment to produce integrated project documents, and insure integrated design approaches & solutions;
    • Assist in the procurement of high-quality work; including marketing / proposal efforts and project interviews;
    • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams on projects related to Government, Healthcare, Higher Education and Science & Technology;
    • Maintain strong client relations as it pertains to project delivery and repeat business;
    • Perform and maintain thorough QA/QC on all phases of projects.
    Qualifications:
    • Professional Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architecture Engineering required;
    • EIT required and the ability to obtain P.E. License within 12 months;
    • 5+ years of experience;
    • LEED AP BD+C preferred;
    • Familiarity with BIM;
    • Maintain technical competence by staying current on appropriate codes and technologies;
    • Proficient in the use of state-of-the-art tools for engineering design and documentation, including Revit;
    • Thorough understanding of plumbing engineering systems;
    • General understanding of engineering principles and systems within other disciplines;
    • Monitors & manages project budgets to ensure cost effective delivery;
    • Expertise in an area of concentration;
    • Effective communication skills (written and oral);
    • Demonstrated thoroughness in design coordination and contract document development in plumbing systems for commercial and/or industrial buildings;
    • Demonstrated record of consistent quality work;
    • Able to work with little or no supervision;
    • Ability to foster teamwork;
    • Business development capabilities, commercial/financial awareness;
    • Demonstrated knowledge in sustainable building design.
