    The Department of Clinical Laboratories at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking an hourly/per diem Clinical Lab Technologist III, Virology & Molecular Pathology


    The successful candidate will:

    • Perform clinical laboratory procedures and examinations and any other tests or procedures conducted by the Virology/Serology laboratory.
    • Demonstrate working knowledge of routine instrumentation and methodology used in Clinical Virology/Serology.
    • Demonstrate good knowledge of quality control, maintenance, and troubleshooting in Virology/Serology.
    • Be flexible, as duties and responsibilities are not limited to the above description.

    Required Qualifications:

    • Bachelor of Science Degree or equivalent in Medical Technology, Physical, or Biological Science required.
    • New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist licensure required.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • ASCP certification preferred.
    • Prior experience in Virology/Serology preferred.

    Work Schedule:

    Days Variable; Hours VariableSalary Grade/Rank:
    SL-2

    Salary Range:
    Commensurate with experience and qualificationsCOVID-19

    Vaccination Requirement:
    An approved COVID-19 vaccination
