    Description

    Typical work assignments include:


    Provides technical advice on financial management/accounting matters and directs, implements, coordinates, and oversees a variety of complex accounting policies and audit-related activities across Agency components.

    Conducts risk analyses over business operations and develops and executes tests of design and operating effectives of internal controls over financial reporting and operations on behalf of the Agency.

    Interprets accounting policies and assesses the implication on existing operations and corrective actions plans across the Agency.
    Provides technical, professional accounting advice by recommending solutions to address accounting and financial management problems across the Agency. Makes recommendations to financial policies, issuances, and directives as a result.

    Provides financial statement audit expertise by coordinating the annual financial statement audit between the program offices and the external auditors, interpreting audit requests, providing financial transaction (United States Standard General Ledger (USSGL) and debit/credit) expertise, and managing the timely and accurate submission of requests for the Agency.
