    Description
    Middle School Art Teacher
Greenwich Academy seeks an outstanding visual arts teacher for the Middle School.

The school's visual arts program aims to nurture the development of an original, personal voice for all students while simultaneously building a strong knowledge of materials, tools and techniques for self-expression.

Candidates should have a fine arts background, a strong drawing portfolio, and experience teaching drawing, painting, printmaking, clay, and design for fabrication and construction.

Serving as an advisor to Middle School students is a critical part of the position, and candidates should be eager to take on this role.

The new Middle School art teacher will teach grades five through seven and will collaborate with the Visual Arts Department Chair as an advisor to the yearbook.

While the art program is fundamentally grounded in material-based art making, we are looking for a dynamic and accessible individual who will be excited to work in an environment that encourages innovation and expands student art making to include technology as an expressive medium.

Potential opportunities include involvement in the on-site art gallery and access to GA's Engineering and Design Lab with digital fabrication machines.

Proficiency with the Adobe Creative Suite is preferred. Candidates should be enthusiastic learners themselves and dedicated to sustaining a culture of anti-racism and anti-bias in our community.

To apply, please complete the online application on the Careers page of the school's website, . In the "Comments" section of the application, please include a link to a drawing portfolio.
