    BASIC FUNCTION

    The Production Staff group includes the operational functions of Press operator, Fabricator, Set-up, Kit assembler, Packager, Knife Table, Laser, Vulcanizing, Mill and Lathe.

    The Machine Operator I's primary function is to fabricate seals, gaskets and O-rings, assemble kits and specialty package parts using the tools and equipment provided by the company combined with specialized knowledge and skills developed by the employee. Perform duties, such as setting up tools, materials, and supplies for yourself and other workers; cleaning work area, machines, and tools; and assisting other workers in performing their tasks.

    Sets up and operates a production machine in accordance with established procedures and guidelines. Controls and adjusts machine settings to complete simple tasks accurately, according to specifications, and in a timely fashion. Requires a high school diploma with no previous experience.

    Requirements:

    EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

    Required –High School diploma/GED and related experience.

    Preferred – High School diploma or GED, or one to three years related experience.

    • Walking – Up to 2/3 of the time
    • Sitting – Up to 2/3's of the time
    • Talking/Listening – Up to 2/3's of the time
    • Use of hands – Up to 100% of the time

    • Stoop, kneel – Up to 100% of the time
    • Reach with arms – Up to 2/3 of the time
    • Body Movements, lifting and exerting force –
    • Up to 10 Pounds – Up to 2/3 of the time
    • Up to 25 Pounds – Up to 1/3 of the time
    • Up to 50 Pounds - Less than 1/3 of the time
    • Up to 100 Pounds – Very rarely and not without assistance
    • The Senses necessary for the successful performance of this position are:
    • Tactile – Ability to properly handle various tools and equipment.
    • Vision – Close vision, Distance vision, Color vision, Depth Perception, and ability to adjust focus.
    • Hearing – Ability to detect noise variations to determine the proper operation of equipment. Ability to hear assignments and requests from others.

    The environmental conditions of the area in which the subject shall perform his/her duties are:

    • Exposed to moving mechanical parts, dust particles, hazardous chemicals, unstable material placement, and other common hazards found in a plant or manufacturing environment.
    • Possible exposure to non-climate-controlled plant.
    • Noise level is moderate. Personal Protective Equipment should be worn at the plant and on job sites.
    • This position is considered a "Safety Critical" position, and all Safety Guidelines must be adhered to.
