Field Engineer-Civil Marine - Portland, United States - Stantec
Description
We create great places and facilities that support our nation's economic security - including support to our US Federal and Department of Defense assets nationwide. Working within the context of the communities we serve, we provide planning, design, and construction engineering and management services that fit the needs of these unique clients. Join our team and help us keep our nation and economy strong.
Your Opportunity
Stantec has an opportunity for a highly motivated and experienced Field Engineer (FE) with large-scale marine and civil works design and construction inspection expertise to provide designer-of-record support. This is a fulltime, 5-day per week assignment. This role requires on site presence, Monday through Friday.
We seek a team player who desires a highly collaborative work environment, has excellent client and communication skills, and strong construction engineering capabilities and experience. Candidate will support our designer of record office and field team for an ongoing major military construction project located at the US Navy's Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in Kittery, ME.
The first phase of the project involves the construction of 134 large diameter, drilled "deep foundation" shafts constructed in a marine environment. The FE role will work alongside the geotechnical engineering team to provide quality assurance oversight of all aspects of shaft construction and acceptance. There is also 40,000 cubic yards of precast concrete and 50,000 cubic yards of cast in place concrete. The FE will be required to oversee and document permanent structures including rebar inspections and concrete quality assurance.
Close coordination of construction interfaces with concurrent construction activities at the Shipyard is essential.
