Description
Job Title: Research Assistant/Associate Professor
The University of Tennessee is seeking a Research Assistant/Associate Professor specializing in computational multiscale materials modeling of hydrogen isotope permeation, trapping, and retention for fusion reactors. This position involves collaborating on a new project with the University of Tennessee-Oak Ridge Innovation Institute (UT-ORII) to develop materials for extreme conditions in fusion environments.
The successful candidate will focus on utilizing various computational modeling techniques, from electronic structure models to molecular dynamics and mesoscale models. The research will contribute to evaluating plasma-facing components and structural materials in fusion environments, working closely with experimental activities and a team of faculty, postdoctoral associates, and students across multiple disciplines.
