- Day/night rotation with variable shift starts at 0700, 0800, 0900, 1000, 1100, and 1900
- High-acuity, high-volume PACU with a controlled, fast-paced evening environment
- Patient population includes a wide variety of post-surgical cases including vascular (carotids, AAA repairs), general, thoracic (esophagectomy), gynecology, neuro (craniotomy, neurostimulators, modified radical neck with trach), orthopedic, kidney transplants, and Whipple procedures
- Ventricular drain management is performed in the PACU; patients requiring ICP monitoring are transferred directly to the ICU
- Overnight boarding of ICU, step-down, and med-surg patients is a regular occurrence
- Proficiency required with arterial lines, central lines, vasoactive and sedative drips, chest tubes, and trachs
- Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position — local candidates are not accepted
- Care for post-operative patients across a broad range of complex surgical specialties in a high-acuity setting
- Responsible for monitoring and managing overnight boarding patients from ICU, step-down, and med-surg levels of care
- Active NH or compact RN license required
- Current BLS certification required
- Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in a Level 1 or comparable Level 2 Trauma center
- Prior high-acuity PACU and/or ICU experience strongly preferred
- Demonstrated proficiency with arterial lines, central lines, vasoactive and sedative drips, chest tubes, and tracheostomy care
- 2 manager references required for consideration
