    Job Description

    We are seeking a Part-time Finance/Accounting Intern for our Purchase, NY office, on a year-round basis. Our Internship Program will provide students the opportunity to gain corporate experience and learn about all aspects of Finance/ Accounting.

    The Finance/Accounting Intern will have the opportunity to work in Financial Accounting and the broader North America Controllership function.

    • Learn and work with different systems widely used in Accounting/Finance industry - (i.e., SAP, BlackLine, Concur, MS Office, and other)
    • Rotation within other areas of the North America Controllership function after initial year in Financial Accounting
    • Participate in the full-time summer internship program offering a unique learning experience - i.e., Insurance industry and company training, exposure to executive management and group project assignment.
    Duties and Responsibilities
    • Assist with various aspects of the monthly and quarterly close processes, as well as day-to-day operations of the Finance/Accounting team
    • Prepare journal entries and reconciliations for cash, general accruals, and other assets and liabilities
    • Participate in meetings and collaborate on special projects to help drive innovation
    • Interact directly with other teams (i.e., Cash Collections/Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Treasury)
    Desired Skills and Experience
    • Student must be a Sophomore or Junior enrolled in an accredited university working towards a bachelor's or master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or Economics
    • Able to work 16 hours per week during school year, 40 hours per week during the summer internship
    • Must be able to commute to the Purchase, NY office - this is not a remote internship
    • Have a basic understanding of accounting and finance principles
    • Minimum GPA requirement of 3.3 on a 4.0 scale
    • Detail oriented with strong analytical abilities
    • Strong positive attitude and interpersonal skills; able to collaborate and interact with others
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Self-motivated
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
    • Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot-tables, v-lookups, and other applicable formulas is preferred
    The intern will be expected to work on-site in the Purchase, NY office 16 hours per week and will be compensated on an hourly basis. Public transportation is available utilizing the Bee-Line Bus System.

    Salary Range: $22.00/hr Actual compensation for this role will depend on several factors including the cost of living associated with your work location, your qualifications, skills, competencies, and relevant experience.
