    Position:

    RN, Emergency Department (Full-Time) Days

    POSITION PURPOSE

    The Clinical Supervisor of Nursing is a Registered Nurse leader within our Emergency Department.

    This frontline leader is responsible for assuring that high quality patient centered care is at the center of all departmental activities.

    The role is a blend of direct patient care, administrative time partnering with the director and/or manager of the department or service line, and leading quality improvement initiatives.

    The nursing clinical supervisor coordinates department activities, mentors staff, and serves as a role model within the department.
    This position is a bedside role with 3 12 hour shifts + 4 hours office time.

    Other roles and responsibilities include project development, support and monitoring of employee engagement, and implementation of nursing strategies and hospital related initiatives.

    This leader reports directly to the Nurse Director/Manager and serves as an exemplary model for patient's care experience./

    POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

    Education:

    Must be a graduate of an approved school of nursing. Bachelor's degree preferred.

    Diploma or transcripts required upon hire.


    Experience:

    At least 1 year of experience in a hospital setting.

    Must be able to serve as an influencer on the unit and to independently perform required tasks according to standard operating procedures.


    Licenses/Certificates:

    Current Tennessee or Compact State registered nurse license required. Current BLS, ACLS, PALS required (AHA or Red Cross only).Certification by professional organization is highly desired. TNCC or ATCN preferred.


    General Responsibilities:


    Observe professional ethics in maintaining confidential information acquired concerning the personal, financial, medical, or employment status or patients of Tennova Healthcare and their families.

    Must follow and enforce accepted safety practices for patients and hospital.

    Participate in Performance and Quality improvement activities.

    Utilize the nursing process to oversee and provide age specific patient care.

    Communicate in an acceptable and easily understood manner.

    Develops, implements, and updates plan of care.

    Educates and adheres to patient bill of rights.

    Participates in required on-call rotations - potential weekend requirements.
