    Position SummaryThe Metropolitan Airports Commission is seeking a Journeyperson Painter to perform skilled painting, scraping, sanding, priming, staining, sealing, varnishing and finishing of all types of concrete, wood, sheetrock and metal finishes on interior and exterior surfaces.

    In addition this position is responsible for striping roads, parking lots, runways, taxiways and apron areas and is responsible for the operation and maintenance of paint spraying equipment.

    Performs other duties as assigned.


    Hourly Rate:
    $44.566Anticipated Hours of Work:
    Monday
    • Thursday 6:00 a.
    m. - 4:00 p.m. *Typically required to work off-shift for approximately 3-4 weeks from June
    • September.

    This position is subject to the terms and conditions of the collective bargaining agreement between the Painters and Allied Trades, Local 386 and District Council 82 and the MAC.

    This is a safety-sensitive position which will require a pre-employment drug screen.

    Sands, stains, seals, and varnishes doors, window frames, railings, woodwork, paneling, etc.
    Tapes, putties, sands, primes, and applies finish coat to sheetrock walls, ceiling, dividers, etc.
    Hangs wallpaper and vinyl fabric on walls and dividers.
    Finishes cabinets and picture frames. Exterior FinishingScrapes, sands, sandblasts and power-washing of all surfaces prior to painting.
    Paints curbs, roadway striping, parking lots, parking ramps, crosswalks, railings, service roads, etc.
    Paints wood, concrete, steel, MAC buildings, and other structure exteriors.

    Field Painting In accordance with the FAA Advisory Circular, paints striping on runways, taxiways and apron areas including holding lines, taxi lines, runway markings, threshold striping, apron markings, etc.
