- Performs a variety of warehousing duties that require an understanding of the establishment's storage plan.
- This incumbent may direct and coordinate the activities of other workers engaged in handling goods to be shipped or being received.
- Work involves most of the following: verifying materials (or merchandise) against receiving documents, noting and reporting discrepancies and obvious damages, routing materials to prescribed storage locations; storing, stacking, or palletizing materials in accordance with prescribed storage methods, rearranging and taking inventory of stored materials, examining stored materials and reporting deterioration and damage, removing material from storage and preparing-it for shipment.
- This worker may operate hand or power trucks in performing warehousing duties. Responsible for oversight of the life cycle of products, including preparation, shipping and receiving.
- Offers support with the maintenance of logistics policies, administer and maintain inventory control program systems and coordinate with team to promote accurate and timely processing of orders for customers.
- Establish and maintain maximum and minimum consumables inventory levels.
- Provides assistance for maintaining logistics planning tasks.
- Scan orders into computer and track shipments across multiple channels.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English fluently.
- Present a neat, clean and professional appearance at all times, unless precluded by assigned work.
- Demonstrable experience as a self-starter who takes initiative in problem resolution, and follow through for non-routine issues.
- Must be a high school graduate or equivalent with basic mathematical skills.
- Must be able to pass a drug test, and have, or be able to obtain, a DoD National Agency Check Investigation (NACI) Interim Secret Security Clearance within 90 days from date of hire.
- Must have a minimum of three (3) years of experience in warehousing operations.
- Ability to safeguard all government property/facilities and provide adequate resource protection to prevent contamination, pilferage, sabotage and accidental damage, including used controlled forms.
- Not an employee of the United States Government if employment will create a conflict of interest.
- Not an employee of the Department of the Air Force without approval IAW DoD R (Joint Ethics Regulation) or the Department of Defense if such employment would be contrary to policies contained in AFI AF Industrial Labor Relations Activities).
- Must not pose a potential threat to the health, safety, security and general wellbeing or operational mission of the installation and its population.
