POSITION SUMMARY:
The Electrical Reliability Engineer position will support MPLX's Gathering and Processing (G&P) facilities.

Individual shall provide technical support, leadership, and oversight for all electrical power systems and instrumentation needs (both operational and project needs); works effectively with the company's operations group, process engineers,

project managers, designers, and drafters in the design, implementation, and operation of the Company's electrical power distribution and instrumentation assets; initiates, reviews, modifies, and/or implements company standards and guidelines to drive safe, reliable, efficient and compliant systems.

This position belongs to a family of jobs with increasing responsibility, competency, and skill level. The actual position title and pay grade will be based on the selected candidate's experience and qualifications.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Provides engineering support and troubleshooting for major equipment with a heavy focus on power systems.

Leads equipment root cause investigations.

Leads reliability improvement projects carrying on the recommendations through completion and verifications.

Reviews electrical and instrument specifications for new projects or plant modifications.

Reviews power systems studies that include arc flash, short circuit, and load flow analyses.

Develops and maintains relationships with equipment vendors, determining the limits and capabilities of each vendor and their materials.

Oversees the designs of new electrical equipment and instrument installations; provide guidance and mentor drafters and designers on electrical and instrument drawing requirements.

Works with operations and facility engineers, identify optimization and efficiency projects and perform evaluations to determine their economic viability;

Reviews engineering standards and provide feedback and recommendations as appropriate.

Executes assignments and small projects, provides regular status updates (communicating with project stakeholders), and be proficient in resource scheduling.

Have strong problem-solving skills and a creative approach for generating new ideas.

Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of individuals/employees. .

Writes applicable guidelines for reliability improvements and deploys them across the operation.

Provides technical reviews, advances technology and tools utilization, and establishes technical specifications for new and modified equipment.

Leads asset health and bad actor reviews engaging with cross functional teams and outside specialized support to determine needs, assess risk, provide direction, and bring closure on reliability issues.

Establishes and optimizes preventive and predictive maintenance programs using best practices and applicable reliability engineering tools and techniques.

Builds close relationship with Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering and acts as a subject matter expert in improving equipment reliability.

Supports inventory optimization and spare parts optimization efforts.

Collaboratively advances digital technology application on critical equipment.

Collaborates as a strong team player, working effectively, cooperatively, and sharing knowledge and skill with others.

Works independently with minimum supervision, self-starting and proactive, and has strong organizational skills.

Ability to prepare reports and other various types of documentation in an accurate and timely manner.

Ability to lead efforts and facilitate alignment meetings and technical and business decisions.

Competent in TEAMS, Word, PowerPoint and Excel

The position is primarily located in an office environment.

Travel to field locations will be frequently required - Travel expected up to 40%

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
This position requires a degree in Electrical Engineering from a 4-year accredited college or university.

0-5 years of general engineering experience is required

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Current valid driver's license required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
A Professional Engineering License is preferred.

5-years of experience in the gas processing and gas gathering disciplines.

Certified in the National Electrical Code (NFPA-70) or Electrical Safety Standard (NFPA-70E).

Understanding and experience with power system modeling software such as ETAP or SKM Power Tools.

Understanding and experience with Historians, Intelex and the MOC process.
