What You Will Do
The High Explosives Science and Technology group (Q-5) at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) is seeking a motivated analytical chemist to analyze perfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS).
PFAS are substances that are toxic to both people and the environment, and this project aims to characterize and identify previous and/or current use of PFAS at LANL.
This analysis will include method development, optimization, and validation with the use of GC-MS and LC-MS instrumentation. Therefore, knowledge and previous use of these instruments will be valuable. The candidate will apply the developed methodology to analyze PFAS within plastic bonded explosives.What You Need

D in chemistry within the last five years or will have completed all degree requirements by the commencement of the appointment.
