    Job Title: Fulfillment Coordinator

    Inventory Control/Fulfillment Coordinator

    FLSA Status: Full-time, Exempt

    Reports to: Wholesale Procurement Manager

    Supervisory Duties:N/A

    Work Locations: Union Kitchen : The Production Facility in NE, DC; The Klein Center : Office Building in SW, DC. Travel to various markets, farms and CSA delivery sites.

    Tentative Start Date: March 2024

    ORGANIZATION DESCRIPTION: Dreaming Out Loud's (DOL) mission is to create economic opportunities for the DC metro region's marginalized community members through building a healthy, equitable food system.

    POSITION DESCRIPTION

    The Fulfillment Coordinator (FC) supports vital procurement operations in our food aggregation, processing, and distribution social enterprise, known as the "DOL Food Hub." DOL's food hub is a rapidly growing food distribution operation which specializes in connecting farm fresh local produce to our vibrant retail markets and happy wholesale customers. We help our customers—food pantries, restaurants, mutual aid networks etc—fulfill their missions by providing the highest quality produce from a local source and by lifting up the stories of the growers and makers from our community.

    SKILLS SETS

    At least 1-year experience in grocery, wholesale food distribution, produce buying or both; or other relevant food experience.

    Interest in and has familiarity with local farm produce and small food businesses with consumer packaged goods.

    Highly organized and capable of helping improve organization and efficiency within the Food Hub.

    Excellent communications skills, especially good at following up with coworkers and vendors to meet collective deadlines.

    Excellent time management skills, deadlines, quick response times and prioritization of tasks are crucial.

    Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations

    Must be accredited by the National Registry of Food Safety Professionals or similar accrediting organization as a "Certified Food Safety Manager" or will be required to attend company provided training and have the ability to achieve accreditation within the first 90 days of employment; Accreditation must be maintained while employed in a position requiring accreditation

    Ability to use computers and other communication systems required to perform job functions

    Ability to use handheld computers for orders, mark downs, scan outs, and inventory

    Stand for long periods of time

    Ability to push or pull up to 2000 pounds using a manual pallet jack.

    Be able to handle a variety of substances associated with cleaning and packaging materials, and household cleaners

    Frequent reaching and grasping at waist level: occasionally above shoulder or below waist level

    Meet established volume activity standards for the position

    Have sufficient visual ability to check invoices, dates, and other written documents

    Demonstrated leadership abilities.

    Persistent and professional communicator.

    Working knowledge of food safety principles and experience maintaining quality control.

    Detail-oriented.

    A valid driver's license and a clean driving record.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Receive orders for produce and supplies needed by the DOL Food Hub for any and all food-related programs.

    Ensure all computer systems are up to date with accurate information about the status of customer orders.

    Maintain clear and organized records to ensure all reports, inventories and invoices are filed and stored properly.

    Maintain a knowledge of food safety

    Conduct inventory audits to determine inventory levels and properly coordinate buying needs.

    Verify and track received inventory and complete inventory reports and logs.

    Reconcile shipping invoices and receiving reports to ensure count accuracy.

    Receive, unload, process incoming deliveries as well as be able to lift up to 50lbs?.

    Refuse acceptance of damaged, unacceptable, or incorrect items.

    Troubleshoot vendor delivery issues and oversee the return process.

    Adhere to food safety and handling policies and procedures across all food-related areas.

    Picking up recovered food items.

    Monitor PAR levels for all food items to ensure proper levels.

    Perform all other duties assigned

    Able to work an 8 hour shift

    COMPENSATION: The hourly wage range is $20 to $24/hr based on experience and qualifications. Benefits included (health insurance, monthly cell phone allowance, monthly travel/commuting allowance).
