    The position involves leading a research team on the assess effectiveness and understanding the mechanisms of influenza in high-risk populations.

    Studies will focus on research in the areas of immunology, vaccine development, molecular biology, and/or virology to participate in animal model development, immune responses to seasonal and high-path influenza virus infection, virology on vaccine development and Universal influenza vaccine-induced immune responses in pre-clinical models.

    Fellow position will involve contemporary and emerging technologies in influenza immunology and vaccine design and analysis in the new state-of-the-art laboratories.

    Studies will use expertise in animal handling of mice, hamsters, and ferrets, non-human primates, infectious diseases, serology, B and T cell immunology, virology for analysis to determine the underlying mechanisms of the influenza virus infection and vaccination strategies in both healthy and high-risk populations.

    Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification in Position Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies

    Candidates will hold a Ph.
    D. in immunology, virology, microbiology, bacteriology, infectious diseases, biochemistry, biology or a related discipline.

    Preference will be given to candidates who have hands-on experience with influenza virus, immunology, cell culture, infections of mice, hamsters, or ferrets.

    Strong communication skills and fluency in written and spoken English are essential as is the ability to work in a collaborative scientific environment.
