    Description

    Summary: This LP Specialist in the second shift assists the Lost Prevention Manager in reducing theft and shrinkage in the store. Plays a key role in ensuring store safety and enforcing company rules for customers and staff. Conducts ongoing programs to raise awareness on loss prevention, safety, and shrinkage. Treats everyone with respect and dignity. Works evenings, weekends, and holidays.



    Essential Duties: Important job responsibilities for this position include:

    • Securing facility, monitoring inventory, and detaining shoplifters
    • Managing surveillance cameras for store safety and policy enforcement
    • Ensuring compliance among employees
    • Training staff to identify shoplifters
    • Overseeing security, sales, and recordkeeping procedures
    • Handling confidential company and employee information
    • Possibly locking and securing the store
    • Focusing on continuous quality improvement
    • Upholding culture, customer service, and performance expectations
    • Supporting and promoting company policies and procedures
    • Performing other assigned duties

    Qualifications: To excel in this role, the individual must meet the following requirements:


    Education/Experience:

    • Preferably a high school diploma or equivalent
    • At least six months of grocery-related experience
    • Preferably previous training or certification in loss prevention or safety

    Language Skills:

    • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, instructions, and manuals
    • Capable of writing reports and correspondence
    • Effective verbal communication with customers and employees

    Mathematical Skills:

    • Skills in calculations, discounts, proportions, and basic algebra
    • Ability to apply mathematical concepts

    Reasoning Ability:

    • Capability to understand and follow instructions
    • Problem-solving in standard situations

    Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

    • CPR/AED Certification Required (Metcalfe's assistance provided if necessary)

    Physical Demands: This job requires the following:

    • Standing and walking most of the time
    • Using hands, reaching, stooping, kneeling, talking, and hearing
    • Lifting an average of 40 pounds occasionally
    • Visual acuity for close vision, color vision, and depth perception

    Work Environment: The work entails exposure to various environmental conditions such as:

    • Wet conditions, moving mechanical parts, and occasional cold conditions
    • Moderate to loud noise levels and retail traffic
