Description
Shockwave Medical, Inc. is a pioneer in the development and commercialization of Intravascular Lithotripsy (IVL) to treat complex calcified cardiovascular disease.Shockwave Medical aims to establish a new standard of care for medical device treatment of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease through its differentiated and proprietary local delivery of sonic pressure waves for the treatment of calcified plaque.
Position OverviewReporting to the Corporate Controller, this Director will be responsible for the Company's financial reporting requirements, including SEC filings, maintaining the Company's accounting policies and addressing technical accounting issues arising from business transactions or the implementation of new accounting pronouncements.
The individual will also play an important role in SOX compliance and will be a key contact for external audit.
Essential Job FunctionsLead external SEC financial reporting process including timely and accurate development, approval and filing of 10-Q, 10-K, 8-K, and other SEC documents, including accurate EDGAR filings and XBRL tagging
Lead preparation of all financial statements, footnote disclosures, and management's discussion and analysis and compensation discussion and other analysis for SEC filings including EPS calculation
Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial data for earnings releases and assist in the review of texts and scripts
Lead/perform technical accounting research, managing external resources as needed, and prepare technical memorandums that document issues and conclusions in a clear, logical and comprehensive manner
Recommend, implement, maintain and communicate accounting policies, practices and procedures to improve and ensure financial control and integrity of the Company's financial statements and accounting practices
Ensure that the company's SOX processes are being followed and keep SOX documentation up to date for responsible areas
Maintain relationships and work closely with external auditors
Manage and complete special projects as necessary
Requirements
CPA required
Big 4 experience preferred
10+ years of relevant experience
Biotech industry experience preferred
Outstanding knowledge and application of US GAAP, PCAOB, SEC and SOX404 regulations and guidelines
Strong written and verbal communication with the ability to effectively present to and engage with a wide range of internal and external audiences, including external audit firm, external law firm, regulators and key internal decision makers
Strong analytical skills coupled with good decision-making skills
Experience with Oracle Fusion and Workiva a plus
Ability to scale and grow a complex business, seen as a problem-solver and builder who strives for continuous improvement
Market Range:
$193,000 - $241,000
