    HDR is looking for an EVSE (Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment) Design Project Manager with the technical skills and desire to help support our nationally recognized Transportation Business Group.

    This position will be based out of our Atlanta, GA office.

    This individual will manage and lead the delivery of transportation electrification projects, including the planning and design of fleet electrification, public charging infrastructure, transit electrification, workplace charging, as well as the design of charging infrastructure installation.

    They will also be responsible for building and maintaining client relationships and proactively researching electric vehicle charging technical solutions to stay at the forefront of the industry as it continues to evolve and grow.

    The EVSE Design Project Manager must also have knowledge in multiple areas, including:
    EVs (light, medium and heavy-duty)

    EV charging hardwareEV charging software including load managementElectrical systems planning and designResiliency & distributed energy resourcesElectric rate tariffsFleet operations and planningApplicable policies and regulationsFinancial incentives for EVs and EVSE including grants and rebatesOn a day-to-day basis, the EVSE Design Project Manager will be expected to:
    Manage transportation electrification projects of varying complexity including multi-disciplinary scope, schedule, budget, and staffing allocation.

    Perform the following types of EV design tasks inside facilities and outdoor settings:

    siting equipment, conducting field visits, recommending charger types/sizes, developing budgetary cost estimates, creating concept design layouts, preparing load letters, and coordinating with the utility for new or improved electrical services.

    Develop, oversee, and review the preparation of final design plans, specifications, and estimates (PS&E) for projects that may include fleet operations, EV charging hardware, and electrical systems.

    Lead zero emissions design projects.
    Oversee the preparation of planning and design project efforts.

    Attend and lead client and project team meetings to provide project updates, resolve planning and design issues, and coordinate design elements with other disciplines.

    Build relationships with clients and teaming partners.
    Mentor junior staff in their professional growth and enhancing their skills.
    Support the pursuit of new projects in partnership with our leadership team.
    Pursue additional professional growth opportunities in project management, business development, technical expertise, etc.

    Provide construction phase technical support including bid addenda, submittal reviews, testing plan reviews, Requests for Information (RFI), Construction Progress Reports (CPR) and change orders, and incorporate agreed-upon changes into the project documents, as needed.

    QualificationsRequired QualificationsBachelor's or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or similar field7 years of experience in the civil or energy industry, utilities, electrical engineering, civil engineering, planning, automotive, transit, fleet management, technology or similar field2 years of project management experienceA/E Industry project management or task lead experienceUnderstanding of electrical design related to AC and DC chargingWorking knowledge of industry practices and regulationsSelf-motivated, able to work independently and with a project team to completion of a taskAn attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a mustPreferred Qualifications1 year of experience in the EV charging design fieldStrong interpersonal and presentation skillsStrong communication skills, particularly technical writing abilityLocal candidates are preferredWhy HDRAt HDR, we know work isn't only about who you work for it's also about what you do and how you do it.
