Exciting opportunity to join The Thyme Lab!

The Thyme Lab focuses on utilizing zebrafish to research genetic mechanisms related to neurodevelopmental disorders. Additionally, we apply protein engineering methods to develop tools for our zebrafish studies.

Tasks may involve:

Molecular biology techniques such as PCR and cloning
Genome-editing in zebrafish
Maintenance of zebrafish lines
Antibody staining
RNA analysis
High-resolution imaging
Protein purification
Bacterial evolution studies
Behavioral screenings
Transcriptomics analyses

We use cluster computing for data analysis and offer training in Python scripting.

The Thyme Lab, combining Dr. Thyme's expertise in protein engineering and zebrafish neurobiology, provides a unique environment for candidates interested in exploring diverse research directions without risks.

Applicants with various backgrounds are welcome, whether in biochemistry, zebrafish research, or other model systems like Drosophila or C. Elegans.

The lab, established in July 2019, has received prestigious awards and focuses on genetic research related to autism, schizophrenia, and neurodevelopmental disorders.

We are inclined towards studying intellectual disability and Down syndrome and enhancing drug screening and genome engineering tools.

Currently, funding supports the development of new tools and drug screening in zebrafish models of neurodevelopmental disorders.
