    Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant - Neurology Clinic - Full Time


    SUMMARY:
    Thisposition is open to a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant. The AdvancedPractice Practitioner is accountable for a "defined" patientpopulation. Functions in the roles of expert practitioner, consultant,educator, patient advocate, care coordinator and researcher within aspecialized area of practice.

    Possesses and exhibits a high degree ofknowledge, skill and competence in the provision of health care directly to thepatient, family or community, or indirectly through guidance of care by otherprofessional personnel.

    Provision of patient care is conducted and performedutilizing the medical model within the scope of licensure and in accordancewith applicable law, regulations, and in accordance with VCH policies.

    Upon acceptance of an offer of employment and prior to providing patientcare, candidate must submit Scope of Practice and all information forcredentialing, to the Medical Staff office, Hospital InterdisciplinaryProfessional Practice Council.


    JOB REQUIREMENTS:
    PhysicianAssistant - Either completion of a PhysicianAssistant program and an Associate's degree, Bachelor's or Master's degreepreferred. Pediatric and/or Neurology experience preferred but not required. Open to new gradPAs. NCCPA is required.

    Nurse Practitioner - Active CA RNlicense. Graduation of a Nurse Practitioner program and a Master's degree.
    Open to both Pediatric Nurse Practitioners (PNPs) or Family Nurse Practitioners(FNPs). Nurse Practitioner National Certification is required within six (6)months of hire or transfer into position. Experience in pediatrics and/or Neurology preferred. A minimum of three (3) years relatedexperience is required motivated NP new graduates are welcome to apply.

    Bothpositions require - BasicLife Support (BLS) is required within 30 days of hire or transfer intoposition.

    Must successfully complete the credentialing process through theMedical Staff office via Committee on Interdisciplinary Practices (CIDP) forthe appropriate scope of practice, written standardized protocols, andfurnishing privileges.

    Ability to work independently, problem-solve, and assumeresponsibility for inpatient/outpatient care. Strong organizational and timemanagement skills. Excellent interpersonal, oral/written communication skillsfor effective interactions with patients and their family members, andcolleagues in multiple medical disciplines.


    POSITION DETAILS:
    Full time, 80 hours per 2-week pay period. Some call may be required. Clinic hours are Mon -Fri 8 am to 5 pm.

    $ $111.00
