    Job Overview


    The role of Behavior Technician is a vital position in our organization, requiring a unique blend of skills and qualifications. In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in maintaining safety within the school environment by responding to behavior events and working collaboratively with school personnel.


    Key Responsibilities



    • Assist in maintaining a safe and supportive learning environment through positive interactions with students and colleagues.

    • Complete data management tasks, including setup and monitoring of systems, to ensure accurate and timely reporting.

    • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to established standards and protocols.

    • Participate in student-centered meetings, providing valuable insights and contributions to team discussions.

    • Support teaching staff and students in the acquisition and mastery of educational curriculum.

    • Perform duties as assigned by supervisors, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.

    • Collaborate with colleagues to implement effective behavior management strategies.

    • Assist with arrival and departure routines, ensuring a smooth transition between classes and activities.

    • Serve on crisis teams as assigned, providing critical support during emergency situations.

    • Participate in training and development opportunities, enhancing knowledge and skills in areas such as ABA, crisis intervention, and data analysis.

    • Provide safety assistance, adhering to ACES safety management trainings, local, state, and federal regulations.

    • Pursue professional development opportunities, staying current with industry best practices and emerging trends.


    Requirements and Qualifications



    • Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience required; RBT certification preferred but not necessary.

    • Eligibility for Connecticut 'V' endorsement for licensure without restriction.

    • A strong work ethic, excellent attendance, and ability to maintain confidentiality in sensitive situations.

    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups.

    • Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and develop effective solutions.

    • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.

    • Proficiency in relevant software systems, including data management tools and Microsoft Office.

    • Familiarity with ACES policies, procedures, and safety management protocols.

    • Demonstrated understanding of ABA principles, including behavioral assessment, intervention, and data-driven decision making.

    • Ability to maintain composure in high-pressure situations and respond effectively to crisis scenarios.
