    Essential Functions
    • Work in cooperation with Athletics staff, campus partners, donors, and volunteers to identify, cultivate and solicit existing donors and donor prospects with major gift (+$50k) capacity.
    • Manage a portfolio of approximately 250 donors and prospects for major gift and high-level annual fund cultivation and solicitation.
    • Advance relationships with prospective donors through appropriate stages of qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
    • Prepare proposals and solicit prospects for major and annual gifts to secure a minimum annual goal of $3M toward the unit's fundraising goals.
    • Frequent travel and/or evening and weekend duties are required.

    Additional Responsibilities
    • Manage specific fundraising campaigns as assigned.
    • Collaborate with appropriate university staff to develop prospect strategies and build relationships: become familiar with and understand key initiatives of Purdue Athletics and other units on campus.
    • Set specific objectives to advance toward solicitation effectively.
    • Prepare and report regularly on annual action plans with defined activities and timetables.
    • Assist in the coordination of advancement activities around football/basketball home games and other special events developed by the Advancement Office or the department.
    • Facilitate the involvement of major donors in unit programs including but not limited to sporting events, student activities, meetings with staff.
    • Coordinate stewardship activities for major donors as requested, including the acknowledgment process, recognition events, and working with the Advancement Office for appropriate recognition.
    • Coordinate the planning of off-campus events as they relate to fundraising and as assigned.
    • Continually improve professional competency through participation in and/or leadership in professional organizations and other not-for-profit organizations.
    • Ensure effective records maintenance, including timely filing of requests of prospect assignments, prospect strategies and contact reports using the Purdue for Life Foundation's prospect management system.

    Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
    • Highly motivated individual with strong relationship building skills and a demonstrated capacity for leadership, organization, and teamwork.
    • Strong conceptual understanding of development, public relations, and marketing.
    • Strong professional communication and listening skills and the ability to represent the University and PRF with tact and diplomacy at all levels.
    • Familiarity with the University and the programs of Intercollegiate Athletics desirable.
    • Personal computing and related software skills, including work processing, spreadsheets, databases, etc. desirable.
    • Display a level of professionalism and attitude of positivity that creates pride for both internal and external constituents of Purdue University.

    Required Education/Experience
    • Bachelor's Degree Required.
    • A minimum of three years in the development field, including solicitation of gifts in a non-profit environment required.
    • University experience a plus but not required.
    • Intercollegiate athletics experience a plus but not required.
