    Job DescriptionJob Title: Clerk-in-Charge (CIC)Location: New Orleans, LAJob Type: Full-TimeShift: Day Shift and Night Shift Opportunities; 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM & 7:00PM to 7:00 AM, including weekends as needed.Overview:We are currently seeking a highly organized and proactive Clerk-in-Charge (CIC) to lead our clerical team at a dynamic stevedoring facility. The CIC will oversee the administration and operational support functions, ensuring efficient processing and accuracy in all documentation related to cargo handling. This leadership position requires robust knowledge of stevedoring operations and excellent management skills.Responsibilities:
    • Supervise and lead a team of clerks in managing the documentation processes necessary for loading and unloading operations.
    • Oversee the accuracy of paperwork pertaining to cargo manifests, stow plans, and delivery orders.
    • Coordinate with operations managers to streamline processes and enhance efficiency at the terminal.
    • Implement policies and procedures that ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
    • Train and develop clerical staff on best practices and operational protocols.
    • Manage scheduling, dispatching, and administrative reporting to support logistics and stevedoring activities.
    • Resolve discrepancies in documentation and liaise with relevant parties to ensure consistent cargo flow.
    Qualifications:
    • Must possess a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) Card.
    • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a supervisory role within logistics, stevedoring, or a related field.
    • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team effectively.
    • Strong command of logistics software and proficient in MS Office.
    • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
    • Outstanding organizational abilities and attention to detail.
    Work Environment:
    • This position involves working in various settings, including office environments and outdoor areas with exposure to all weather conditions.
    • Frequent interaction with heavy machinery and equipment, where safety compliance is critical.
