    Reporting to the Senior Director, Regulatory Affairs, theRegulatory Affairs Specialistwill assist with domestic and international food and beverage regulatory work for all its privately held companies.This is an unique opportunity to learn from a team of experienced attorneys and regulatory professionals who can help you to expand and hone your regulatory skills as a member of a collaborative and supportive team.

    The Regulatory Team advises on labeling, advertising, product registration and licensing, claim substantiation, food safety, recalls, product development, pesticide and chemical tolerances, and other areas of regulatory compliance. This team is a part of our broader transactional legal group that includes corporate, real estate, employment, intellectual property, education, and government affairs teams.

    This position will participate in ourhybridwork schedule: Mon-Wed in office at 11444 W. Olympic Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90064and the option to work remotely on Thursday and Friday.

    Job Description

    • Review U.S. product labels (including ingredient statements, nutrition facts, nutrient content claims, health claims, romance copy and other statements provided on pack) for regulatory compliance.
    • Monitor and track current FDA regulations and warning letters related to food labeling, nutrition, claims and food safety.
    • Summarize and help interpret U.S. and international regulations and guidance documents related to labeling, nutrition and claims.
    • Maintain and organize substantiation and documentation for label and product claims.
    • Develop and maintain compliance tools and resources (e.g.,decision trackers, internal reference documents, pesticide and ingredient spreadsheets, FSMA checklists, etc.) by reviewing content and entering data.
    • Maintain and update nutrition information for U.S. and international products, such as confirming appropriate calculation methods by country, calculating nutrient content per serving and 100 g, checking rounding rules, etc.
    • Assist the Regulatory Team with process improvement and data management, including the development and maintenance of labeling checklists, brand reference guides and SOPs.
    • Research, summarize and compile documents published by government agencies to support comment writing or other regulatory strategies.

    Qualifications

    • 3-5 years experience in domestic regulatory affairs at a consumer packaged goods company isrequired.
      • Food and beverage experienced strongly preferred.
    • Working knowledge of FDA labeling laws and regulations.
      • International regulatory knowledge a plus.
    • Bachelor's degree in nutrition, food science or related discipline preferred.Formal coursework or seminars in labeling, claims, and food safety preferred.

    Additional Skills

    • Positive and self-starter attitude with a strong sense of urgency.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written), including the ability to communicate complex regulatory and scientific issues in simple terms.
    • Ability to work both independently as well as collaboratively within the Regulatory team and with cross-functional partners.
    • Solutions-oriented team player capable of working in a fast-paced environment.
    • Superb organizational skills and high attention to detail.
    • Proficient in MS Office Products (i.e.,Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Outlook).

    Pay Range: $85,000 - $110,000 and may include a discretionary bonus. Final compensation will be dependent upon skills & experience.
