surgery-trained Veterinary Assistant

to join our fast-paced, team-oriented animal hospital. This position is ideal for someone who is dependable, adaptable, and passionate about patient care.

weekend availability

Requirements

Prior experience as a

Veterinary Assistant

Surgery-trained

(including anesthesia monitoring and dental procedures)

Ability to work

weekends

Comfortable with

long hours

and a busy hospital environment

Open to

learning, coaching, and constructive feedback

Strong work ethic and positive attitude

Reliable, punctual, and professional

Job Responsibilities & Skills

A qualified Veterinary Assistant is expected to be proficient in the following:

Patient Care & Technical Skills
Safely restrain animals for examinations and procedures

Obtain

blood samples

(venipuncture)

Accurately take and record

heart rate, respiratory rate, and temperature

Assist with

surgical procedures

, including:

Surgical prep

Anesthesia monitoring

Recovery monitoring

Assist with and perform

dental cleanings

as trained

Understand and

interpret basic laboratory results

Maintain clean, organized treatment and surgery areas

Team & Workflow
Ability to

multitask

in a fast-paced environment

Strong communication skills with doctors and team members

Willingness to help where needed and support the team

Comfortable working independently and as part of a team

Maintain a calm, compassionate demeanor with patients and clients
