Be part of a team that takes pride in building the worlds' most advance submarines.Duties include, but are not limited to:
Preserve the hull and components by sealing the submarine with chemicals and paints that prevent corrosion and protect against the accumulation of marine life Surface preparation and painting functions, which involves solvent washing, sanding and/or grit blasting Measure and document paint thicknesses in order to maintain a high level of quality Using various shop equipment including table saws, drill presses, routers, sandblast equipment, brush, roller, airless spray and other specialized equipment and air and electric hand held tools This position is located at the Quonset Point facility in North Kingstown, RI.
Responsibilities Ability to work in a collaborative and team environment and meet organizational goals Strong communication and interpersonal skills Qualifications Required:High school diploma or equivalent 3 years relevant experience and/or training Available to work all shifts Ability to work at heights, confined spaces and extreme temperature conditions as required Individuals are required to possess their own basic hand tools Preferred: Vocational, Technical and Community Colleges or Apprentice programs Paint/coatings or related experience or training Mold makers and masonry experience Experience applying coatings via brush, roller, conventional sprayers & airless sprayers Experience working in the construction industry or a manufacturing environment Carpentry or auto body experience or related trade training Knowledge and use of Graco or equivalent painting tools & equipment NACE certification Ability to read blueprints and work with basic hand and power tools Military experience PI Back To Search ResultsGeneral Dynamics Electric Boat is a recognized leader in the design, construction and lifecycle support of submarines for the United States Navy.
