    The Labor and Delivery Unit at Inova Fair Oaks Hospital is seeking an RN Unit Supervisor

    Schedule:
    full-time, night shift with 3 x 12 hour shifts per week one week and 2x12 hour shifts the next week from 7:00pm to 7:00am

    Sign-On/Relocation Bonus Information:
    This position is eligible for a competitive Sign-On Bonus. Candidates who are relocating 50 miles or further are also eligible for relocation assistance.

    The Labor and Delivery unit at Inova Fair Oaks Hospital located in Fairfax, Virginia has recently undergone a beautiful renovation.

    Our unit consists of thirteen private labor and delivery rooms, an eight-bed triage/PACU area, and three operating rooms. The types of patients range from low risk deliveries to high-risk patients with pre-existing multisystem medical and obstetrical problems.

    The usual staffing assignment consists of 1 RN for 2 laboring patients and change to 1 nurse to 1 patient based on acuity and phase of labor.

    The Inova Registered Nurse Unit Supervisor:

    • Front line leader who is accountable for delivering highly reliable results related to Quality and Best Practices to improve clinical operation of the unit; embraces, uses and understands the research behind nursing practice and quality tools. Supports unitbased shared governance and decentralized decisionmaking structures and processes.
    • Role model who leads by example in delivering Service Always and in making Patient Experience a priority on unit(s) of responsibility. Ensures that care is patientcentered.
    • Continually pursues activities that will ensure smooth clinical operations/flow and compliance with Inova's goals of providing safe, equitable, patientcentered, timely, efficient and effective care in a holistic and evidencebased practice environment.     • 2+ years of Labor and Delivery experience is strongly preferred.
    Proficient in English, strong verbal, and written communication skills

    • Proficient computer skills required
    • Minimum Education Requirement: BSN from an accredited school of nursing. Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification from the American Heart Association required upon start
    • Specialty certification (as required by the unit) within one year of hire.
