    Description

    Job Overview:
    We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Patient Assistant to join our healthcare team.

    As a Patient Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing support and care to patients in various healthcare settings.

    This is a paid position with opportunities for growth and development.


    Responsibilities:

    • Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, and grooming
    • Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, heart rate, and temperature
    • Provide assistance with mobility and transfers
    • Administer medications under the supervision of healthcare professionals
    • Assist with medical procedures and treatments as directed
    • Maintain accurate and uptodate patient records using electronic health record systems (Epic)
    • Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure the delivery of quality patient care
    • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and caregivers to address their needs and concerns
    • Provide emotional support to patients during their hospital stay or nursing home residency
    • Ensure adherence to infection control protocols and maintain a clean and safe environment

    Skills:

    • Experience in Durable Medical Equipment (DME) handling and usage
    • Proficient in taking vital signs accurately
    • Knowledge of hospital medicine practices and procedures
    • Familiarity with nursing home care protocols
    • Previous experience in caregiving or assisting patients of all ages, including children
    • Familiarity with electronic health record systems (Epic) or similar systems
    • Ability to work effectively in critical care settings
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
