**Overview:**
Collier's at Port Orange is seeking a passionate and dedicated Activities Director to join our team and enhance the quality of life for our residents. The ideal candidate will be creative, compassionate, and organized, with a background in recreational therapy or related fields. This role is essential in promoting socialization, engagement, and overall well-being among our assisted living residents.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Develop, implement, and evaluate a diverse calendar of activities that cater to the interests and abilities of residents, ensuring a holistic approach to mental, social, and physical well-being.
- Coordinate individual and group activities, including arts and crafts, games, exercise classes, outings, and special events.
- Assess residents' needs and preferences through individualized assessments and regular feedback to ensure activities are meaningful and enjoyable.
- Foster relationships with residents, their families, and staff to create a supportive community environment.
- Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers and activity assistants to facilitate programs and events.
- Collaborate with healthcare staff to ensure activities are aligned with residents' health and wellness goals.
- Manage the budget for activities programs, ensuring responsible financial oversight and maximizing resource allocation.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance and participation in activities and report on the effectiveness of programs to management.
- Promote and market activities and events to residents, families, and the broader community to encourage participation and engagement.
- Stay updated on emerging trends in senior activities and care, integrating new ideas and best practices into the programs.
**Qualifications:**
- Previous experience in an activities role within an assisted living or long-term care setting is highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with seniors and their families.
- Creative mindset with the ability to develop interactive and appealing activity programs.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, able to manage multiple activities and priorities.
- Certification in recreational therapy (e.g., CTRS) or similar is a plus.
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred.
- Familiarity with Alzheimer's and dementia care techniques is beneficial.
