    Job SummaryThis position is assigned to the Property Accounting group which is responsible for the appropriate accounting, recording, and reporting of the company's capital assets.

    Property Accounting is dedicated to exceeding the expectations of our customers and internal clients, anticipating the changing needs of the Business Units, and providing solutions in an accurate and timely manner.

    This position oversees the preparation of fixed asset schedules to support regulatory filings and subsequently responds to requests for information that arise during the discovery period.

    In addition, this position is responsible for conducting GAAP and FERC accounting research and preparing recommendations for proposed changes to the capitalization policy and/or capital asset catalogs.

    Essential FunctionsPlan and manage the completion of various fixed asset schedules for inclusion in regulatory filings.
    Engage with third-party vendors in the preparation of depreciation and cost of removal studies for inclusion in regulatory filings.
    Effectively manage and develops staff through use of best practices and the Company's people management processes.
    Coach and develop the staff to improve performance and aid in reaching personal development goals. Provide on-going feedback to ensure employee development.
    Routine review of the fixed asset transactions for accuracy of data.
    In cooperation with other departments or functions, research and implement recommendations for updating the capitalization policy.
    Education DescriptionRequires a bachelor's degree in accounting from an accredited college or university.
    MBA or other applicable advanced degree is preferred.
    CPA certification is desired.
    ExperienceMinimum of eight (8) years of applicable accounting experience.
    Prior supervisory experience is required.
