    Description
    Santa Monica Proper is seeking an experienced full-time Barback for Calabra Rooftop.

    A seamless merger of historic retrofit and new construction, the 271-room Santa Monica Proper Hotel features interior design by international style icon Kelly Wearstler, multiple dining options by local area culinary stars, a rooftop lounge and swimming pool, and 16,000 square feet of meeting and event space.

    The Barback will assist with cleaning the bar, ensuring the bar is well stocked, preparing garnishes etc. Barback will also assist with setup and breakdown of secondary pool bar. This person should be knowledgeable about the menu and focused on providing quality service in a fast-paced environment.

    Job Overview

    • Assist with opening and closing duties
    • Greet guests in a warm and friendly manner
    • Ensure Bartenders are properly stocked with clean glassware and supplies
    • Collect used glasses and plates
    • Keep the bar clean by wiping, cleaning, and mopping
    • Attend to any guest requests and relay to servers, bartenders and managers when needed
    • Ensure items are stocked properly
    Requirements

    • 1 years' experience as a Barback in a restaurant, bar or lounge
    • Excellent multitasking and organizational skills
    • Willing to learn and take direction well
    • Work flexible schedules and willing and able to work shift duties that may include evenings, nights, weekends and holidays
    • Collaborate with Colleagues crossdepartmentally
    • Perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy
    • Work cohesively with Colleagues as part of a team
