- Participating in material and labor needs determination for the assigned area, as well as menu planning.
- Supervising food and beverage production and service to uphold quality and quantity standards.
- Managing the cleanliness and maintenance of designated areas and equipment to meet sanitation requirements.
- Ordering food, beverages, supplies, and equipment while overseeing storage and conducting inventories.
- Keeping accurate records of food and beverages served, employee hours, sales, and customer counts.
- Supervising cash handling operations and cash register activities according to established procedures.
- Developing procedures to reduce operating costs in collaboration with unit management.
- Addressing customer complaints effectively, training and overseeing employees, and acting as the unit manager when needed.
- Performing any other duties as assigned.
- Minimum of five (5) years of full-time or equivalent part-time experience in food service or a relevant educational background.
- Knowledge of food preparation and service methods in a high-volume setting.
- Understanding of food quality standards, sanitation practices, and cash handling procedures.
- Effective communication skills, record-keeping abilities, and proficiency in supervising employees.
- Capability to work weekends and holidays, and comply with University policies and procedures.
- Familiarity with computerized menu systems is a plus.
- Strong ability to manage material and labor resources efficiently.
- Skill in anticipating and addressing customer concerns proactively.
- Knowledge of unit and University provisions and equipment ordering protocols.
- This role involves various physical activities such as balancing, lifting, standing, bending, driving, and repetitive movements. Occasionally, lifting moderately heavy objects and prolonged standing may be required.
- This position is considered essential.
- Applicants must obtain food handler certification within six (6) months of starting.
- 7AM-3PM with rotating weekends.
