    Summary



    This position is that of an Auditor in the Office of Inspector General (OIG), Office of Audits (OA). The mission of the OIG is to conduct audits that are independent objective investigations to review and support the NSF in its mission of promoting the economy with efficiency and effectiveness to safeguard the integrity of the NSF programs and operations.



    Duties


    As a AUDITOR (FINANCIAL/PERFORMANCE), you will perform the following duties:

    • Serves as an audit manager who plans, directs, and executes financial and performance audits and reports on performance, internal operations, controls, financial systems, information systems, surveys, and evaluations of grants, contracts, and cooperative agreements funded by the NSF.
    • Leads and conducts interviews of auditees, which includes high-level auditee representatives and NSF management.
    • Leads fraud-brainstorming sessions, story conferences and team meetings with a variety of participants.
    • Devises techniques to analyze and evaluate audit evidence and results, develops analytical opinions, findings, and recommendations.
    • Provides independent and expert oversight of the audit reporting process and ensures that any significant deficiencies noted during the audit are reported, appropriate recommendations are made, and findings are fully developed and properly supported.
    • Reviews draft reports and supporting work papers to present audit findings to audit management.
    • Prepares for and facilitates team discussions, conferences, directs the preparation of fact sheets, notifications of findings, prepares correspondence for distribution internal and/or external to the NSF.
    • Leads briefings and presentations for the OIG, key agency officials and personnel external to NSF.
