The Orthopedic Clinical Resident evaluates, treats, develops and implements physical therapy treatment programs for adults with functional impairments due to orthopedic medical conditions, outlining goals and expected outcomes of the treatment plan.
Provides care using evidence based physical therapy interventions to increase mobility, prevent further pain, injury or disability, and facilitate health and wellness.
Evaluates each patient's progress and modify the plan of care/intervention as necessary to achieve anticipated goals and expected outcomes and will develop and implements discharge plans.
The purpose of the program is to provide clinical and academic opportunities necessary to develop advanced practitioners in the field of orthopedic physical therapy.
To prepare clinicians to contribute to the profession and to improve the health and healing of the communities we serve through advanced and evidence-enhanced clinical practice, professional development, teaching, life-long learning, scholarship, and community involvement.
The length of program is 13 months.Qualifications
Education
Masters or Doctorate in Physical Therapy
Licensure, Certification, Registration
Current State of CT Physical Therapy license
