    Job Summary:

    Under the immediate direction of the Sleep Center Manager, performs adult and pediatric polysomnograms, CPAP titrations, and scores sleep studies as ordered by physician for use in patient diagnosis and treatment. Provides leadership and guidance on a day-to-day basis to staff to assure efficiency in daily operations and completion of tasks and objectives within established standards.

    Minimal Acceptable Job Qualifications:

    Education: Minimum of a high school diploma or GED or Associates in Respiratory Therapy.

    Experience: Minimum of three to four years experience in sleep studies required.

    Registration:
    • Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) OR
    • Registered Electroencephalographic technologist (R. EEG T.) Polysomnography OR
    • Certified Respiratory Therapist -Sleep Disorders Specialist (CRT-SDS) with NBRC- CRT OR
    • Registered Respiratory Therapist Sleep Disorders Specialist (RRT-SDS) with NBRC RRT OR
    • American Board of Sleep Medicine Registered Sleep Technologist (RST)
    Certifications:
    • BCLS within 30 days of hire
    • SAMA Level 1 within 30 days of hire
    Job Knowledge & Skills:

    Requires strong working knowledge of various polysomnographic procedures and techniques, equipment utilized and applicable regulations. Must be competent in the use of computerized systems and analog EEG/Polysomnographic systems.

    Requires strong working knowledge of normal growth, development, related behaviors, needs, comfort, and range of treatment appropriate to the age (including child, adolescent, aging adult) and diagnosis of patients served to support the provision of an individualized multidisciplinary plan of care.

    Demonstrates strong analytical, organizational, and leadership skills in order to set-up patient appropriately, conduct test, interpret validity and quality of the diagnostic service provided, as well as to monitor staff activities and prepare related documentation.

    Requires leadership, group cohesion and communication skills promoting teamwork and group achievement.

    Demonstrates well-developed communication and interpersonal skills necessary to interact effectively with all internal and external unit customers, as needed.

    Demonstrates working knowledge of the English language, both verbal and written.
