- Cross-trained to provide intraprocedural duties during cardiac catheterization & peripheral vascular procedures.
- Operates Siemen's x-ray/digital equipment (single plane) & portable c-arm.
- Responds to STEMI alerts during assigned shifts. No on-call requirements for cath lab.
- Surgical scrub assisting physician during invasive/interventional procedures while maintaining sterile field.
- May assist with circulating to pull needed equipment/supplies during procedure.
- Assist with sheath pulls, deployment of closure devices, radial & groin management.
- Participates in patient transport.
- Assumes professional responsibility, accountability, and initiative.
- Successfully completes Telemetry Course.
- Maintains BLS and ACLS certifications.
- Provide optimal patient care
- Receive, relay and document verbal, written and electronic orders in the patient's medical record
- Corroborate a patient's clinical history with procedure and ensure information is documented and available for use
- Verify informed consent for applicable procedures
- Assume responsibility for patient needs during procedures
- Prepare patients for procedures
- Apply principles of ALARA to minimize exposure to the patient, self and others
- Identify, prepare and/or administer medications as prescribed
- Evaluate images for technical quality and ensure proper identification
- Identify and respond to emergency situations
- Provide education
- Educate and monitor students and other healthcare providers
- Perform ongoing quality assurance activities
- Apply the principles of patient safety during all aspects of patient care
- Perform diagnostic radiographic and non-interpretive fluoroscopic procedures
- Operate fluoroscopic equipment in the surgical setting
- Assist the physician with fluoroscopic and specialized radiologic procedures
- Certification by ARRT.
- Valid license issued by ODH.
- CPR certification

Exercises professional judgment in performance of services and maintains a demeanor complementary to medical ethics. Provides appropriate patient care and recognizes patient conditions essential for successful completion of the procedure. Provides care for patients ranging in age from newborn through geriatric. Provides practical instruction to students.
A clinical competent Radiographer who performs duties routine diagnostic radiology exams & is cross-trained to assist with cardiac catheterization & peripheral vascular procedures in order to respond to emergent STEMI or peripheral vascular cases during nightshift hours.
