    Job Description

    Summary

    Reporting to the US Controller (located in the Philadelphia corporate office), the Assistant Controller will be primarily responsible for working hand in hand with the US Controller, to improve the financial accounting and reporting functions for US operations. VBC has had an exciting two years in terms of creating a multinational company, implementing SAP, doubling revenue, and increased funding from various new investment groups. VBC has plans to exponentially grow in the future. A hybrid work schedule is available.

    Detailed Responsibilities
    • Manage the monthly close with other members of accounting team.
    • Prepares and or review account reconciliations for corporation's entities and accounts, as required.
    • Responsible for reviewing Monthly Work in Progress schedules and Percentage of Completion accounting for revenue related to projects.
    • Implement reports and processes, in accordance with GAAP, within the finance function improving the quality and timeliness of reporting, insight and transaction processing.
    • Develop utilization of SAP with US Controller and other team members.
    • Works with cross-functional areas to identify and implement continuous cost controlling and process improvements in reports, process and procedures by establishing and maintaining high quality assurance standards and timeliness of the internal financial reporting.
    • Assist and perform research and analysis in special projects on an ad-hoc basis as needed.
    • Provide oversight, development guidance and technical knowledge to other team members.
    • Implement, document, and maintain adequate and effective internal controls and processes for accurate reporting.
    • Other activities as assigned by the US Controller and CFO.
    Qualifications
    • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.
    • 6-10 years' experience, in an industrial manufacturing environment (or in combination with public accounting experience).
    • Highly knowledgeable and trained in proper accounting procedures in accordance with GAAP.
    • Experience with SAP is highly encouraged.
    • Hands-on experience preparing financial reports, including variance analyses.
    • Adaptability while working in a fast changing and evolving organization.
