    Description


    Serve as a member of the Data Services Team to support database platforms, including Oracle Exadata, Postgres, MongoDB, and Kafka, develop database-centric solutions to business applications, and advocate best practices to design a superior data architecture.

    Handle database provisioning, support and administration, architecture, reliability, performance, high availability, and scalability of large-scale data ingestion, processing and aggregation, and retrieval systems.

    Improve the usage and performance of database technologies.

    Improve database infrastructure, help teams to efficiently use databases, advise on database choices, and provide proved SQL and tuning assistance.

    Support, administer, manage, and tune multi-terabyte database systems. Automate tasks to improve efficiency and quality of the team and infrastructure.

    Manage periodic database and software releases for quality assurance (QA), pre-production, production, and disaster recovery as part of the overall software development lifecycle (SDLC).

    Troubleshoot database engine and query performance issues in real-time. Work with IT Server Management and other groups to ensure all issues, incidents, and problems are timely resolved.

    Participate in and coordinate projects with other teams within Operations and other peer groups, such as Development and QA teams.

    Review current processes and suggest improvements as new tools and methods are discovered.

    Contribute to best-in-class product support resources, including run books, tools, monitoring processes, and knowledge bases, and participate in weekly Tier-2 Support on-call rotations.

    Work with supporting, administering, managing, and tuning multi-terabyte database systems; SQL; database security, backup and recovery, and performance monitoring standards; troubleshooting database engines and query performance issues in real-time; Oracle database administration; database administration in MongoDB, Postgres, MariaDB, and mySQL; SQL programming; Oracle performance tuning; and Linux and Windows Server environments.


    Requirements:

    Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field of study, plus five (5) years of experience with supporting, administering, managing, and tuning multi-terabyte database systems; SQL; database security, backup and recovery, and performance monitoring standards; troubleshooting database engines and query performance issues in real-time; Oracle database administration; database administration in MongoDB, Postgres, MariaDB, and mySQL; SQL programming; Oracle performance tuning; and Linux and Windows Server environments.

    Minimum Salary: 143,686
    Maximum Salary: 168,700
