    Description

    Quantam Solutions provides IT solutions and consulting for the State of Michigan. We offer a competitive hourly wage, health benefits, paid time off, and a 401(k) plan. We're currently seeking a Project Manager 1 for the State of Michigan's Center for Shared Solutions (CSS). The selected candidate must be local to Lansing, MI and willing to work a hybrid work environment.

    GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Designs, plans, and coordinates work teams.
    • Adheres to standard project management industry practices such as the PMI's framework.
    • Understands the business and technical objectives of a project and collaborates closely with the project sponsor.
    • Develops the project charter and work plan, and monitors budget and schedule progress using appropriate metrics.
    • Establishes project organization and methodologies and defines roles and responsibilities.
    • Documents risks and develops mitigation plans; manages project scope.
    • Creates and implements a communication plan.
    • Builds and manages an effective team, assigning tasks and evaluating outcomes.
    • Negotiates resources and communicates with stakeholders and project sponsor.
    • Identifies, tracks, and ensures resolution of issues and removal of barriers.
    • Provides technical support to project team members.
    • Manages complex application features and technical designs.
    • Manage a group of applications system analysts, relying on experience and judgment to achieve goals.
    • Professional certification is highly desirable.

    ADDITIONAL DUTIES:

    • May require specific skills related to PC, workstation, operating system, application, or platform.
    • Provides overall direction for the formulation, development, implementation, and delivery of the project.
    • Exercises management responsibility for project performance, revenue, and profit objectives.
    • Ensures maintenance of project plans including tasks, schedules, estimates, and status; disseminates information to team members and customers.
    • Creates a structure for managing a complex environment focusing on quality, productivity, and consistency.
    • Directs corrective actions where performance does not meet objectives.
    • Arranges for the assignment of responsibility to other supporting facilities, business areas, and support functions, monitoring their performance.
    • Independently coordinates and completes projects, overseeing all aspects, setting deadlines, assigning responsibilities, and summarizing progress.
    • Prepares reports for upper management regarding the status of the project.

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • 2+ Years of Experience as a Project Manager.
    • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
    • Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
    • Exhibits a degree of creativity and latitude in duties.
    • May work under the supervision of a Senior Project or Program Manager, assisting with larger, more complex initiatives.
    • Supports the PMO area that includes the Department of Labor & Economic Opportunity, Michigan State Housing Development Corporation, Unemployment Insurance Agency, and the Attorney General's office.
    • Project and program assignments may vary based on work demands.
