    Description


    The Ministry Site Director is a position that requires spiritual and organizational leadership skills, the ability to work with and through other people, and strong communication skills.

    S/he must embrace and build a team that embodies YFC's Cultural Attributes:
    Christ-centered, enduring humility, relentless trust, courageous faithfulness, joyful camaraderie, and kingdom inspired diversity.

    S/he will seek to implement relational ministry actions to develop Authentic Christ-Sharing Relationships with young people within the context of their YFC ministry model.

    Essential Functions
    Direct Ministry
    Engage in Relational Ministry Actions with students:

    Contacting
    Building Time
    Appointments
    Small Groups
    Student Leadership/Core
    Club
    Trips

    Engage with students on Social Media Platforms
    Club and event planning
    Participate in the planning and execution of chapter wide events
    Develop a Core Team
    Obtain or create curriculum, as needed
    Decide on deliver of curriculum
    Obtain supplies for games, prizes, etc.
    Implement the Five Essentials in your site(s): Widespread Prayer, Loving Relationships, Faithful Bible Teaching, Collaborative Community Strategy, Adults Who Empower
    Leadership Development

    We are unable to execute effective student ministry if we ourselves, and our leadership teams, are unhealthy and not abiding in Christ.

    The development of your leadership team, and yourself, is vital.
    Conduct leader meetings once a month
    Schedule and conduct building times with your team
    Hold a celebration event for your volunteers once a year
    Recognize and thank your volunteers
    Have two appointments with your volunteers annually
    Hold leaders accountable for engaging with students
    Pray with your team and individuals
    Continue to seek out new volunteers
    Take advantage of leadership resources (books, podcasts, etc.)
    Attend training events each year (RLC, MLC, etc.)
    Observe an Abide Day once a quarter
    Public Relations

    In order to do successful youth ministry, it is vital to engage in relationship and communication with local professionals in your ministry area.

    Send a personal email to school administrators/counselors
    Call local church leaders and ask how you can pray for them
    Be in regular communication with the parents of your students
    Be in touch with local community leaders (town hall, Mayor, supervisors, administrative staff, etc.)
    Send a hand written note to any of these leaders
    Administration
    Administrative work is necessary to help us see success in direct ministry
    Update Google calendar at least weekly
    Meet with supervisor on bi-weekly basis
    Impact online reporting
    Attend staff meetings and Leadership Council meetings
    Update mailing lists
    Complete YFC Credentialing Process
    Refer to Standards and Best Practices found in the Knowledge Base
    Spiritual Responsibilities

    Because the overriding religious purpose and mission of Youth for Christ USA is to communicate and introduce the Gospel of Jesus Christ to young people and their families, and in that regard to make, educate and encourage life-long disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ, it is very important that you as an employee in the movement of Youth for Christ be recognized as an associate minister of the Gospel.

    As an employee of Youth for Christ and an associate minister of the Gospel, YFC expects all employees to:

    Seek God's guidance and wisdom, through prayer and meditation, for the organization as a whole as well as for specific ministry initiatives.

    Participate and lead regular times of prayer, devotion and worship as a regular aspect of your role within YFC.
    Teach and preach from the Holy Bible at YFC staff meetings, conferences, camps and events.
    Model empathy, humility and care for all people. This includes promoting equity and inclusion in word and in the practice of faith expression.

    YFC employees will have an opportunity to be commissioned or licensed as a minister of the Gospel through the established Youth for Christ process, and/or ordained by an outside body recognized by Youth for Christ USA.

    It takes paid staff, and leaders of all capacities, to reach and maintain the annual budget set forth by our chapter Board of Directors.

    Each staff is required to raise funds through various efforts to meet their set percentage, amount established at time of hire, or in the most recent performance evaluation.
