We are looking for:
The Industrial IT Specialist supports manufacturing operations to ensure the integrity and functionality of the Manufacturing Executing System (MES) at the Augusta site.
We count on you for:
• Manage the Manufacturing Executing System (MES) and implement solutions and provide continuous support for the MES system at the Augusta site.
• Play lead role in the development, maintenance, analysis, design, configuration, testing, implementation, documentation, and staff training activities of software and hardware systems. These software and hardware systems include the following: Operating systems, file and application servers, databases and spreadsheets, local and wide area network environments, information and functional systems.
• Work in a team, with significant liaison responsibilities to external or internal clients.
• Draw up specific proposals for modified or replacement systems.
• Work closely with programmers and a variety of end users to ensure technical compatibility and user satisfaction.
• Provide training to users of the new system.
• Keeping up to date with technical, as well as industry sector developments.
• Possess knowledge of plant, business unit systems, and corporate applications and standards.
• Identify hardware/software interface problems.
• Identify and define project and application requirements and issues through client interactions.
• Research and evaluate the functionality of vendor software to meet user needs, assess vendor proposals, and serve as a technical/vendor liaison.
• Define and set up an effective testing environment and plan.
• Maintains the Augusta plant disaster recovery plan for computing services.
You will bring:
• Bachelor's degree (B.S./B.A.) in Computer Science or equivalent; or 4-10 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 2+ years' experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Extensive working knowledge of network connectivity, integration, configuration, and protocols.
• Knowledge of client/server, database and web-based technologies.
• Computer programming experience.
• Writes computer programs and applications according to specifications, employing the use of programming languages and/or software packages.
• Documents these programs to enable departmental staff to continue computer support to the related systems.
• Superior working knowledge of a variety of hardware and software components, including:
o Ethernet local and wide area networks - Cisco switches and routers - Bar coding systems – access points and scanners - Microsoft Outlook and Office Suite - Lotus Notes -Oracle and PL/SQL, Microsoft SQL Database software - Visual Basic and .NET Development software
• Ability to manage personal workload and prioritize work, excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, showing thoroughness and attention to detail.
• Ability to handle multiple projects with rapidly changing priorities and deadlines.
